For decades

our country

has

gone

through huge

suppression

and

genocide.

The

consequence

is

that most

people

are traumatized

and

struggle

with

psychological

injuries.

Therefore,

we have

a

great

need for

psychologists,

and

specially

psychologists

who

specialized

in

coping

with traumas.

As Koya

University is

the only

university

in Iraq,

educating

clinical

psychologists,

it is imperative

that

these

students

are

prepared

to meet

the challenges

with their

traumatized

patients.

Introduced

to the TRE

(Trauma

Releasing

Exercises)

we

can see

that this method

would

be

perfect

to

our need.

The fact

that the

psychologists

would

be able to

work with the method

after relatively

short time,

and that

they

can work

with many

people

at atime, would

mean

that

we could

reach

out to a big

part

of our

population.

This would

have

a big

influence

in the

peace

and in the rebuilding

of our country.

We had not

found

a useful method

for

dealing

with

traumas in

our

situation

until

Colette

Markus introduced

us to the

TRE method.

We are

very

pleased

that

she and her

team

are willing

to come

and teach us

this method.

That

is

why we made

an

appointment

of

starting up in April

2014.IJnfortunately

Kurdistan

has

got

into economic

crisis

in

the meantime,

which

also affected

the University,

and we had

to

cancel

it.

Right

now

we cannot

see

when the economic

situation will

change.

We

can

just

look

at our

students

missing

this important

link in their

education.

Of course

we are still

very

interested

in starting

up the

training with

our

students,

and we will

do

our utmost to find

money

so that

we can

start up. But

unfortunately as

the si-luation

is now,

we

cannot see

when or if

we succeed.

Therefore,

we would be

very

pleased,

if

Colette

Markus and

her

team could

help us finding

finances

for the trauma healing

training

of our

students.
